Anchor near the reef at Koh Tan, gear up and explore the underwater world with tropical fish and coral gardens. Continue to Koh Madsum (Pig Island) for free time to meet the pigs, swim, kayak and take photos on the white-sand beach. As the day cools off, sit down to a simple Thai dinner and watch the sky shift through orange and pink while cruising or from the beach. Frequently Asked Questions

What makes this different from the morning Pig Island tour?
This tour departs in the afternoon and returns after sunset. You get softer light for photos, cooler temperatures for snorkeling, and a dinner included as part of the trip.

Is dinner included?
Yes. A meal is included and served during the tour, typically on one of the islands.

Is this tour suitable for children?
Yes. Children are welcome. The pace is relaxed, the water is calm, and infants ride free.

Will I see the sunset from the boat?
Yes. The return journey coincides with sunset over the Gulf of Thailand, giving you open water views of the sunset from the boat.

What is the Pig Island entrance fee?
There is a small entrance fee of 50 THB per person, paid in cash directly on the island.

Do I need snorkeling experience?
No. The snorkeling areas around Koh Tan are shallow and calm, suitable for beginners. Equipment is provided.

Where does this tour depart from?
The tour departs from a pier in the south of Koh Samui. Hotel pickup is included from Chaweng, Lamai, Bophut, Maenam, Nathon, and surrounding areas.

What is Pig Island in Koh Samui?
Pig Island is the nickname for Koh Madsum, a small island roughly 4 kilometres off the southern coast of Koh Samui in Surat Thani Province, Thailand. It is named after the free-roaming pigs that live on it and wander down the white-sand beach to the water's edge, where visitors swim and photograph them. There is no resort or village on the island — you reach it by boat from a pier in the south of Koh Samui, and a 50 THB per person island entrance fee is paid locally on arrival. The water off the beach is calm and shallow, so it suits children and nervous swimmers, and trips almost always pair Pig Island with snorkeling at the coral reefs of neighbouring Koh Tan.

What is the snorkeling like at Koh Tan on this sunset trip from Koh Samui?
The boat anchors near the reef at Koh Tan, where you gear up and explore coral gardens with tropical fish. The snorkeling areas around Koh Tan are shallow and calm, so they suit beginners and children, and a mask and snorkel are provided for the reef stop. Because this is an afternoon departure, you also snorkel in cooler temperatures than on morning trips. Afterwards the tour continues to Pig Island (Koh Madsum) for swimming, kayaking and free time on the white-sand beach before dinner and the sunset cruise back to Koh Samui.
